Hours: 3.4 Course ID: 005737 Includes basic physical science principles of selected physical therapy interventions, data collection, and selected physiotherapy interventions including wound therapy, compression therapy, safety procedures, gait training, traction, electrotherapy, diathermy, ultraviolet radiation, hydrotherapy, and documentation. Prerequisite: Admission to the Physical Therapist Assistant Program; completion of BIO 137 and 139 with a grade of C or better; completion of PTA 150 and PTA 160, and all general education courses required for completion of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program with a grade of C or better. Completion of PTA 170 with a grade of P. Students may be required to complete an entrance test and/or demonstrate prior completion of coursework in the Athletic Training Program and certification as an Athletic Trainer. Corequisite: PTA 100, PTA 220. Lecture: 1.4 credits (21 contact hours). Laboratory: 2 credits (60 contact hours). Component: Laboratory, Lecture Campus: WKCTC
