Hours: 4 Course ID: 000694 Basic statistical methods are reviewed. Statistical techniques which parallel methods of SPC are introduced. Analysis of means, analysis of variance, and contrast comparisons are studied to facilitate the understanding of the different experimental design methods. Examples from manufacturing illustrate how to reduce product variability and optimum process factor settings. Computer software is utilized throughout the course. Lecture: 3 credits (45 contact hours); Laboratory: 1 credit (30 contact hours). Prerequisite: QMS 242 or Consent of Instructor. Component: Laboratory, Lecture
