Description:
Students will gain transcription knowledge through authentic physician dictation. A wide variety of medical reports will be transcribed. These include History and Physical Report, Discharge Summaries, Emergency Room Reports, Operative Reports, SOAP Notes, Pathology Reports, Radiology Reports, Letters and more. Accuracy will be stressed and emphasized. Students will become accustomed to using reference materials and other resources such as the Internet. Emphasis will be placed on grammar, punctuation, correct medical abbreviations, pharmacology, disease process, and laboratory procedures. A total body system of medical instruction will be used. Prerequisites: CPT112 and CPT140
