Students are introduced to fire protection and emergency medical services. This program meets or exceeds all requirements set by the Louisiana Commission on Fire Protection an NFPA Standard 1001, Firefighter I and II under IFSAC and NPQS. Students are introduced to fire protection. This course will present anddiscuss fire chemistry, behavior of fire, fire hazards of materials, fire suppression systems, alarms and detection systems, process fire hazards, and transportation fire hazards. Life safety and building codes are emphasized. Demonstration and observation of fire protection systems and equipment are included n this course.
