Students will study reading readiness skills, methods of motivation for early reading among young children, testing methodology for reading pictures, words, groups of words and numbers. Picture stories andlanguage experience approaches to early reading will be utilized. Language growth and development related to correctness in reading will be emphasized. The course will also focus on methods of identification and the correction of problems in language growth and development among children. Prerequisite: EDUC 209 or EDUC 210.
