Hours: 3 Course ID: 000813 Focuses on operation and control of a chemical plant as required by the chemical plant operator. Basic principles of chemical process systems and their associated control strategies are stressed. Fundamentals of automated process control systems will be discussed and those principles are related to various unit operation computer generated simulations. Practical study of process control systems as applied to chemical process systems and coordinated with the associated lab course. Lecture: 2 hours; Laboratory: 2 hours.
