Hours: 3 Course ID: 000610 An introduction to environmental systems such as weather and climate, vegetation, land forms and soils, and how the quality of these systems is modified by human use. Resource issues discussed include: atmospheric pollution and global warming; groundwater, flooding, and flood plain management; volcanic activity and earthquakes; and biospheric processes associated with deforestation and lake eutrophication. Case studies based upon important environmental problems illustrate how human activity and environmental systems interrelate. Fulfills USP Cross-Disciplinary requirement.
