Hours: 6 Course ID: 001453 This course concentrates on the operating requirements for drinking water treatment plants. Both surface water and ground water sources will be covered in this course. This course will provide the student with training in safety, plant operation, sampling and laboratory analysis and the recordkeeping requirements for water treatment facilities. The student will study the information needed by the operator to perform specialized water treatment processes. Areas to be covered include iron and manganese control, fluoridation softening, trihalomethanes, demineralization, and the handling and disposal of process wastes.
