First semester of a two semester algebra-based introductory sequence in physics. Introduction to the fundamental principles of natural phenomena. Topics include kinematics and dynamics of particles, momentum, work, energy, conservation laws, and mechanics of rigid bodies. A knowledge of basic algebra and trigonometry is needed for this class. Three lecture hours each week. (Fall, Spring, Summer)
