Prerequisite: ECON 2105, 2106 or consent of department chair This course covers the evolution of economic ideas and theories, their social and philosophical preconceptions, and uses to which they have been put in developing policy and their infl uence upon modern economics. Topics include ancient and medieval economic thought, mercantilism, physiocracy, classical and neoclassical schools, socialist and Marxian critiques, Austrian school, and institutional economics.
