CHEM 4611 - Structure and Bonding 3

Institution:
University of West Georgia
Subject:
Description:
Prerequisite: PHYS 2212, CHEM 3521 and CHEM 3522 Fundamental quantum mechanical principles are applied to atomic structure and the periodic properties of the elements. The structure and reactivity of ionic and molecular systems are qualitatively analyzed by using bonding models such as valence bond theory, group symmetry, and molecular orbital theory. The Band Theory is used to investigate the insulating/conducting properties of solids.
