Prerequisite: BIOL 1107, 1107L, 1108, 1108L with a grade of C or higher and CHEM 1212K; Corequisite: BIOL 2120, and 2135L This course is designed to familiarize sophomore-level biology majors with the basic factors controlling the structure and function of populations, communities, and ecosystems. The role of evolutionary processes in the structure and function of these systems also will be explored. Basic concepts will be synthesized and reinforced by investigating the dynamics of the major aquatic life zones and terrestrial biomes on earth.
