HUMA 1301 introduces major artists, musicians, writers, and philosophers and their masterpieces, which often reflect and shape the ideas and arts of their cultures. Through an interdisciplinary (or multi-disciplinary) approach to studying the arts, themes, and philosophies that emerged in selected periods from the Renaissance to the Modern Era, students will develop analytical skills by observing, critiquing, and evaluating arts and ideas that they (the students) might become discerning, culturally literate critics of modern media. Activity courses may be repeated for credit.
