Introduction to fluid flow in geologic systems with an emphasis on groundwater and on the physical and chemical principles that control groundwater flow in the subsurface. Topics include the hydrologic cycle; physics of fluid flow in porous media, mathematical descriptions of groundwater flow, and geology of groundwater occurrences. Prerequisites: GEOL 1403, PHYS 1401 or 2425, and MATH 2413, or permission of instructor. (May be taken for graduate credit.)
