A study of factors that impact the well-being of the young child, including healthy behavior, food, nutrition, fitness and safety practices. There is a focus on local and national standards, as well as legal implications of relevant policies and regulations. The course includes a minimum of 16 contact hours of field experience with children, infancy through age 12 in varied settings with diverse populations.
