A study of practices and procedures that are involved in drilling operations. Topics on rig equipment, casing design, fishing and proper procedures to successfully drill a well are implemented. Instruction in volume calculations, hydrostatic pressures, formations pressures and analyzing problems in downhole drilling operations. Identify the five major systems and equipment of a drilling rig; understand and select major fundamentals operations in the drilling industry; and analyze certain downhole problems that may arise in drilling operations.
