Credits: 2 Wkly hrs: 2 hours Lecture This course is designed from a proactive approach to reduce or eliminate the needless injuries and deaths of our firefighters on the emergency scene. It will aid the Safety Officer to act as the Incident Commander's eyes and ears looking for potential and probable hazards that could adversely affect the operations and the on-scene personnel. Knowledge about fire behavior, building construction, and department standard operating guidelines all help him or her to evaluate on-scene risks and to help the department work towards the safest possible emergency scene. Prerequisite: Permission from program advisor.
