Prerequisites:Successful completion of CHEM 1312 and CHEM 1112 or equivalent with a grade of "C" or higher Corequisites: None This course is primarily for students majoring in chemistry, chemical engineering, or other physical or biological sciences or pre-professional studies for medical, dental, pharmacy, or veterinary programs. This course covers general principles, theories, reactions, and reaction mechanisms of organic chemistry. The nomenclature of hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, and alcohols, and the stereochemistry of organic molecules are covered. (CIP 4005045203) Concurrent enrollment in CHEM 2223, Organic Chemistry Laboratory I, is highly recommended. This course is math-intensive (MI).
