The concepts and principles of translation into contracted Braille from electronic publisher's files will be introduced and demonstrated using the standard Braille translation software programs. Scanning and OCR, as it pertains to Braille, will provide students with another basic tool in creating electronic files for braille translation in the absence of publisher's files. Students will use Microsoft Word to prepare files for the braille translation process. This course will incorporate the same principles learned in BRTT 2476 and will further develop proofreading skills when using translation software, and embossing files. (CIP 130501000)
