Course Description: Application of advanced concepts and skills for the development of the professional nurse's roles in complex nursing situations with adult clients/families with complex health needs involving multiple body systems in intermediate and critical care settings. Emphasis on knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Key Concepts: This course introduces the student to the concepts of care to complex medical surgical clients and their families. There is an emphasis on the application of the nursing process to explore in-depth the bio-psycho-sociocultural concepts. Other concepts such as prevention, nutrition, client safety and education will be integrated throughout the course content. This learning experience results in a consolidation of a student's educational experience. Pharmacological concepts specific to this content are discussed. ** Capstone Experiences: RNSG 2207, RNSG 2331, and RNSG 2263 are courses taught in the last semester. The learning experiences in these courses result in a consolidation of a student's nursing educational experience. The student will be required to complete a comprehensive examination with a satisfactory score prior to completion of this class. Credentialing NCLEX-RN Exam. Prerequisites: COSC 1300, RNSG 2208, RNSG 2260, RNSG 2201, RNSG 2261, RNSG1146. Concurrent with RNSG 2207. Prior or concurrent with 3-Hours Humanities/Fine Arts course. **This is a capstone experience.
