Explores the roles of the occupational therapy assistant in health care delivery. Emphasis on documentation, occupational therapy standards and ethics, health care team role delineation and management. Learning Outcomes: The student will delineate the roles of the occupational therapy assistant and registered occupational therapist; outline the role of the occupational therapy assistant as activity director including assessment, planning and program management; demonstrate proficiency in documentation legal and reimbursement purposes; relate the requirements for certification and licensure; explain the component of quality assurance as it relates to health care systems; analyze issues related to ethical practice; summarize the roles of the health care team; identify basic management strategies and differentiate components of supervision. Prerequisites: OTHA 1305, OTHA 1315, OTHA 2311, OTHA 1309, OTHA 2301, OTHA 1419, OTHA 2309 and OTHA 1562. Co-requisite: OTHA 2304 and OTHA 2405.
