Course Description: Study of the concepts and principles essential for demonstrating competence in the performance of nursing procedures. Topics include knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Key Concepts: This course provides the student with the fundamental nursing skills used in administering client and family care. Emphasis is placed on the development of motor skills through the use of the nursing process, scientific rationale and safety within a legal and ethical framework. The experiences are simulated in the laboratory. Prerequisites: BIOL 2401, 2402, RNSG 1113, ENGL 1301 and PSYC 2301. *BIOL 2421 prior or concurrent. Concurrent RNSG 1309.
