Course Description: A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. * If a course description in the LCC catalog states that a course must be taken concurrently with another course, those courses may not be taken independently of one another. If a student fails or withdraws from a concurrent course, they must withdraw from the other concurrent course as well. Key Concepts: This course introduces the student to basic clinical concepts for the care of adult clients and their families with common medical-surgical disorders in a structured health care setting. There is an emphasis on the application of the nursing process by the nurse in the role of provider and manager of care. The student is provided with the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts learned in RNSG 1341. Prerequisites: RNSG 1309. *Concurrent with RNSG 1205, 1341. BIOL 2421 prior or concurrent.
