Course Description: Study of the concepts and principles necessary to perform intermediate or advanced nursing skills; and demonstrate competence in the performance of nursing procedures. Topics include knowledge, judgement, skills and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Key Concepts: This course provides the student with the development of intermediate nursing skills used in administering care to adult clients and their families. Emphasis is placed on the development of motor skills through the use of the nursing process, scientific rationale, and safety within a legal/ethical framework. * If a course description in the LCC catalog states that a course must be taken concurrently with another course, those courses may not be taken independently of one another. If a student fails or withdraws from a concurrent course, they must withdraw from the other concurrent course as well. Experiences are simulated in the laboratory. Prerequisites: RNSG 1341, 1260, BIOL 2421. *Concurrent with RNSG 1443, 1460. (Prior to 3rd semester courses RNSG 1201, COSC 1300, PSYC 2314).
