Procedures depicted in the Current Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA). Includes blood collection, specimen handling, basic urinalysis, identification of normal ranges, quality assurance, and quality control. May include electrocardiography. Learning Outcomes: Demonstrate proper venipuncture and skin puncture technique; demonstrate compliance with Universal/Standard Precautions and OSHA guidelines; properly perform hematocrit and glucose with a blood glucose meter; properly label and handle all biologic specimens; perform appropriate equipment maintenance and troubleshooting; demonstrate quality assurance and quality control procedures; and, if appropriate, perform proper 12 lead electrocardiography. Prerequisites and/or Corequisites: MDCA 1313 and MDCA 1409, MDCA1305, and HPRS 1304
