CB 2304015112 A college level, transfer course, ENGL 1301 requires the study and mastery of the basic principles of effective expository and persuasive writing. Each stage of the writing process is reviewed with special emphasis given to revision and editing. Substantial writing requirement in addition to a documented paper. Prerequisites: ( 1) Minimum reading level of 12.0 or credit in READ 0375 or 81 or higher on the TCOMP reading test; AND (2) a combined Usage and Sentence Srtucture score of 57 or higher, credit in ENGL 0373, or 59 or higher AND 6 or higher on the WSAM on the TCOMP or recommendation by an English instructor with the approval of the English Department Chair on the basis of writing ability as demonstrated during the first class day.
