A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Learning Outcomes: As outlined in the learning plan, the student will apply the theory, concepts and skills involving specialized materials, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the particular occupation and business/ industry; demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, communicating in the applicable language of the occupation and the business or industry. Key Concepts: The student will gain proficiency and demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and techniques necessary to stabilize airways, simple and complex, and provide shock treatment to include PASG trouser application and I.V. Therapy. Prerequisites: Certified as an EMT-Basic, EMSP 1501 and EMSP 1260; EMSP 1338, EMSP 1355, EMSP 1356 and Co-requisite: HPRS 2300.
