CB 2601015103 This course is a basic introduction stressing fundamental biological principles and concepts. It is designed to acquaint students with the various structures, functions, life histories, distribution and interactions of plants, animals and microorganisms. This course is required for elementary education certification for students transferring to TAMIU. It may fulfill four of the eight or 12 hours of science requirements for some degree plans (check with your advisor and/or college of transfer). It is not for students majoring or minoring in science. It is a one semester alternative to the two semester Introduction to Biology series (BIOL 1408/1409). Credit will be awarded for either BIOL 1410 or for BIOL 1408/1409, but not for all three courses. Prerequisites: 12th grade reading level and eligibility for ENGL 1301 and MATH 1314.
