Application of a systematic problem-solving process and critical thinking skills to provide nursing care to diverse clients/families across the life span with common health care needs including, but not limited to, common childhood/adolescent diseases, uncomplicated perinatal care, mental health concepts, perioperative care, frequently occurring adult health problems and health issues related to aging. Emphasis on secondary disease prevention and collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary health care team. Content includes applicable competencies in knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ ethical framework. This course must be taken concurrently with RNSG 1144 and RNSG 1461 (TE 1227). A grade of "C" or better is required to progress to Nursing III courses. Prerequisites:BIOL 2101, 2301, 2102, 2302, BIOL 2321, BIOL 2121.
