Introduction to the profession of nursing including the roles of the registered nurse with emphasis on health promotion and primary disease prevention across the life span; essential components of the nursing health assessment; identification of deviations from expected health patterns; the application of a systematic, problem-solving process to provide basic nursing care to diverse clients across the life span; and applicable competencies in knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. This course must be taken concurrently with RNSG 1119 and RNSG 1460. A grade of "C" or better is required toprogress to Nursing II courses. Prerequisites: BIOL 2101, 2301, 2102, 2302.
