Application of a systematic problem-solving process and critical thinking skills to provide nursing care to diverse clients/families across the life span with common health care needs including, but not limited to, common childhood/adolescent diseases, uncomplicated perinatal care, mental health concepts, perioperative care, frequently occurring adult health problems and health issues related to aging. Emphasis is on secondary disease prevention and collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary health care team. Content includes applicable competencies in knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. RNSG 2404 must be taken concurrently with RNSG 1227. After satisfactory completion of this course, RNSG 1227 and the payment of a credit award fee, the LVN/LPN is eligible to enter RNSG 2514. Pre-requisites: BIOL 2301, 2101 2302, 2102, 2321, 2121, PSYC 2301, PSYC 2413, and ENGL 1301. A grade of "C" or better is required to progress.
