Introduction to the role of the associate degree nurse as a provider of care, coordinator of care and member of a profession. Topics include knowledge, judgment, skills and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Development of a realization of nursing as an interpersonal process with emphasis on fundamental concepts and theories upon which nursing is based. One of four Level I courses which includes nursing practice socialization and history, legal aspects and other factors influencing health care. Must be repeated if clinical RNSG 1160 is not successful. Prerequisites: BIOL 2401, 2402, HPRS 1106 and 1204. Concurrent: RNSG 1160, 1201, 2306, CHEM 1406, PSYC 2301. Assessment Levels: R3, E3, M3.
