Study of the general principles of caring for selected adult clients and families with common health needs in a structured setting. Emphasis on knowledge judgment, skills and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. This Level II course focuses on medical-surgical areas of nursing care relating to physiological and higher needs as altered by physiological stress. Further development of clinical decision making continues along with study of pharmacology, nutrition, math proficiency, communication skills and asepsis as altered by specific stressors. Must be repeated if clinical RNSG 1161 is not successful. Prerequisites: RNSG 1160, 1201, 1413, CHEM 1406, PSYC 2301. Concurrent: RNSG 1161, 1412, 2162. Assessment Levels: R3, E3, M3.
