Skills for open-water diving developed in the pool. Includes underwater physics, physiology of diving, diving equipment and the diving environment. Diving certification by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) is not under Del Mar College auspices but may be earned by meeting additional requirements. An additional equipment/facility fee will be charged at the facility. Certain pre-existing medical conditions may preclude participation in this class. Prerequisites: 200-yard swim and 10 minutes of treading water. Assessment Levels: R1, E1, M1.
