Study of basic rules of English grammar and spelling, punctuation, capitalization and proofreading skills as they apply to the production of transcripts of the spoken word in the reporting field. The student will identify English grammar rules as they apply to the spoken word and reporting documents; demonstrate proofreading and punctuation skills on reporting documents; discriminate words as to syntax and meaning; and recognize correct spelling and capitalization in the production of reporting documents.
