An overview of skills necessary for developing speed and accuracy in transcription of testimony dictation material. The student will write and transcribe dictation of testimony material meeting test speed levels using correct transcription procedures; write and transcribe medical, technical, two-voice and multiple-voice live dictation; write abbreviations, phrases and theory fluently using computer compatible techniques on legal, medical and current event literature; and discuss current topics and geographic locations dealing with local, national and international events based upon dictation conducted in the classroom. Corequisite: CRTR 1257. Must see program advisor.
