Within a framework concerning the historical and conceptual aspects of "la Francophonie," students will study the cultures and literatures of countries or regions where French is used either as an official language or is the language of a significant segment of the population. In the second part of the semester, the course will concentrate on one specific area (for instance, the Caribbean, or West Africa, or Quebec, etc., on a rotating basis). Conducted in French. Prerequisite: French 2002 with a minimum grade of C, or by permission of the instructor.
