This course is a survey of periodontics providing an overview in identification, treatment and prevention of periodontal disease as it relates primarily to the dental hygienist. Emphasis is placed on departures from normal periodontal architecture; the etiologies associated with these abnormalities and indicated dental hygiene treatment. Prerequisite(s): B.S.D.H. Admission.
