This course provides a basic background in the Linux operating system. Linux, a UNIX-compatible operating system for personal computers, is used to cover topics such as basic system operation and access, file system organization, file management and manipulation, shell scripts, and system maintenance and security. A grade of C or higher is required in this course to count toward graduation in a College of Professional Studies certificate or degree program. Prerequisites: CNET 1105 (C).
