This course studies, in detail, those mental processes and structures that compose the human cognitive system. The course will view cognitive psychology as the coordinated operation of mental processes within a multicomponent memory system. Topics include: memory processes and theories, conscious processing, knowledge representation and storage and retrieval of memory. Recent research findings and issues related to human memory are stressed. Prerequisite: PSY100 or PSY150. 3 credit hours.
