Fall-Spring Semesters This course is an introduction to file management and organization as well as the fundamentals of image editing, vector-based drawing and page layout. Through hands-on work, students learn the anatomy of the vector-based and the bitmapped image, the PostScript page description language, and understanding of hardware configuration. Knowledge of the mechanics of the digital image will provide the foundation for all further study in digital design. Interrelation and appropriate use of applications is emphasized. Theories of digital process and case histories of various uses of digital media are included. Graphic Design majors only. 3 credit hours. 5 lecture and studio periods.
