This course will focus on the structure of proteins, the thermodynamics of protein folding, enzyme catalytic mechanisms and enzyme kinetics. This course will also contain an introduction to the field of bioinformatics, the use of computer databases to determine relationships between nucleic acid sequence, protein structure and protein function. Same as BIOL:426. Prerequisite: CHEM:222. 3 SH. 3 lecture hours.
