This course provides students with an understanding of the Spanish literary tradition of nineteenth century Spain. Students will study major literary movements and authors of the period. This course can be a survey including all major literary movements and authors; or it may be offered as a topics class, where the focus is on the discussion of a specific issue such as social class, gender, economics, etc., or devoted to one specific literary genre. Three credits.
