Description:
This course explores the role of photojournalism in the newsgathering and news reporting processes, and the activity of a photojournalist in fulfilling that role. Students will learn to originate single pictures and multiple image stories covering news, sports, and features. Aspects of journalism such as the generation of story ideas, research, and visual execution will be addressed, as well as legal and ethical issues that affect photojournalists. Students will also develop writing skills in developing photo captions and generating text to support photo essays. Prerequisite: ARTM2005 or ARTM2020
