This yearlong course provides a survey of construction and terminology used in woven textile design. It covers information on fibers, yarns, calculations, and finishes. Assignments include drafting on paper and computer, fabric analysis, dobby constructions, and sample weaving. Lectures and related field trips acquaint students with current trends and practices in the textile industry.
