Learn hand-building techniques, the potter wheel and a combination of handbuilt and wheel-thrown elements to create one-of-a-kind functional pots and sculptural objects. Learn to pinch, coil and construct with slabs. Begin on the wheel with the basics of cylinder, bowl and plate and continue to complex forms with multiple parts. Experiment with slips, engobes, high-fired clays and glazes to learn different methods of surface decoration. Designed for beginners and experienced ceramicist as well as those interested in pursuing functional and/or creative ceramic work.
