In this year-long course students will learn the vocabulary, tools, techniques and applications of print design for apparel and home furnishings. A recognition and development of technical skills necessary for proficient work in the industry, stressing experimentation and personal expression is developed throughout the year. There is a strong emphasis on drawing, making keen observations of form, growth, color and pattern in nature and environment. The course includes work in pencil, ink, watercolor, block printing, dyes, and gouache. Satisfies: Major Requirement or Studio Elective
