The Introduction to Basic Photography course instructs students in proven techniques enabling them to produce quality photographs. Through a better understanding of photography, students will learn to improve the quality of their picture taking. The course will focus on both the technical and creative aspects of photography. Students will be working with black and white materials only. A 35mm single lens reflex (SLR) camera is required. Students will learn how to use their SLR cameras, develop black and white film, and make black and white prints. Weekly shooting assignments will be completed outside of class.
