The History of Media and the Media of History will analyze interpretations of the past and present in a variety of media, including examples from contemporary culture. The class will analyze the history of human communication by working with different media to understand 1) the type of evidence generated by each form of communication, 2) the ways that each type of evidence can be researched and used to interpret the past, and 3) the challenges of each medium as a vehicle for representing historical interpretations.
