This course explores the nature of thought by connecting ideas from the fields of psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, linguistics and computer science. Topics to be explored include philosophical arguments on the nature of the mind, human and artificial intelligence, psychologically-, brain-, and computer-based models of mental organization, thought-related disorders, and the biological and psychological processes underlying consciousness, memory, language and reasoning, Prerequisite: PSY 100, 110, or 210. 3 credits.
